People, who come to me for treatment,  often ask "how often should I get a massage. I want to keep on top of my pain?" 

As a general 'rule of thumb' I would say once a month.

Sometimes a single massage is not enough. What I would recommend is an initial diagnosis and massage for 45/60/75 minutes with 2 follow up massages of 30 minutes each.

Academic research has shown that engaging and increasing exercise and physical activity levels can lead to having positive outcomes in relation to physiological and psychological health. From a physical point of view these include a combination of health benefits such as reduced blood pressure, reduced heart rate, reduced pain levels, as well as reduced associated risk of falls and a reduction in pain and disability for people with chronic pain and osteoarthritis (OA).

As well as physical health benefits it also shows it can help in reducing aspects of depression, anxiety and reduction in fatigue.

Being physically active and increasing exercise levels help to improve physical health through improving, strength, aerobic endurance, balance and mobility.

We can provide one to one PHYSIO sessions, designing programmes for people who have joint pain, with or without OA, and have limited movement and flexibility as a consequence.

MOVE 2 IMPROVE

A number of people are suffering from injuries, or simply a lack of mobility and could be on a relatively long waiting list for an NHS Physiotherapy appointment.

The best way to encourage and expedite recovery is to help in getting the body moving and prescribing  specific and appropriate strength exercises to facilitate movement and reduce pain.

 

At Fit 2 Perform Physical Therapy and Massage we can help guide and motivate you to ‘help yourself,’ with exercise demonstrations at our studio in Warminster. The objective is to show you exercises that you can take home and practice.

You won’t need to kit your house out with gym equipment either.

If you are a member of a gym, exercises can be shown that can be carried out at your gym as well as other exercises to do at home.

We can also check on your progression with follow up sessions to ensure you are/stay on track with your recovery.

COST

The cost has been kept low to make these Physio sessions accessible to many,

 

45 minute initial session £26

30 minute follow up session £21

There will be a 5 minute assessment/informal chat which is additional to the session at no extra cost.

Finally. Some of my clients have Physio and ask for soft tissue massage after. This is purely optional and would be an additional Move 2 Improve cost of ONLY £15 for 30 minutes. We also offer a loyalty discount of 10% off every 3rd appointment.
